Reducer moldings are used when two floors of different heights are to be joined together. The reducer is used to go from a higher floor to a lower floor, like vinyl plank down to linoleum or no floors such as on a slab.
Avoid joining two pieces together that results in having seams in high traffic areas within the door opening. If you have to position two trim pieces together, make the seam be positioned in the least trafficked side to reduce wear and tear.
Trims have no warranty, if you cannot work with the standard length offered, consider using a different type trim to complete your transition.
